GREATER CLONARD EX-PRISONERS ASSOCIATION

Our friends will know that this is the 20th anniversary of the 1981 hunger strike.As part of the contribution to the programme of commemorative events our assocation are planning a special mass in Clonard monastery at 4pm on sunday 25th february.

Those readers who are old enough to remember the street corner rosaries,prayer meeting and masses that were held frequently throughout the country.we felt that was appropriate therefore that we should organize a special mass in Clonard monastery and invite the families of our ten comrades to attend.

The mass will be celebrated and music for the mass will be prefromed by the McPeake school of music.
The mass will be followed by a photographic exhibition in nearby Clonard hall.

We hope the people of clonard and beyond will attend in large numbers and show their respect for the Hunger Strikers and their families.

THE MASS ITSELF WAS A GREAT SUCCESS AND MUCH APPRECIATED BY THE FAMILIES THAT WERE IN ATTENDANCE ALSO THE PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION CAME FOR MUCH PRAISE AND TO THE ORGINIZERS A BIG THANKYOU AND WELL DONE.
